About this product
Designed by Jonas Trampedach in 2011, the Rivet Chair for FRAMA embodies a design philosophy where meticulous craftsmanship meets enduring form. Each chair is a testament to the idea of furniture as a lasting object, intended to be cherished and passed down through generations.
The chair is constructed from laser-cut sheets of 4 mm thick, untreated raw aluminium. These sheets are cold-formed and joined by hand using a riveting technique, entirely without welding, resulting in a unique piece with clean, geometric lines. This process allows the raw aluminium surface to develop a rich, individual patina over time, adding depth and character to the material.
With its industrial aesthetic, the Rivet Chair offers a compelling contrast to softer textiles and wooden furniture around a dining table in a modern home. It can also serve as a sculptural element in a hallway or as an additional seat in the living room, complementing other Nordic-style furnishings. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, its untreated surface will naturally show variations and develop marks upon contact with liquids, further enhancing its unique story.

- Care instructions: Clean with a soft cloth wrung out in clean water or mild soap/detergent. Avoid chemical-based cleaning agents. Wipe dry with a soft cloth to prevent streaks and scratches. Remove cleaning agents from edges and rivets. Avoid placing wet objects on the surface, as marks will occur. Untreated aluminum will naturally show variations; stains will appear upon contact with liquids. Saltwater or sea air will create an oxidized surface and pitting.
