- Care instructions: Maintain with oil a couple of times a year. Clean and dry the surface thoroughly before application. Lightly sand with 180/220 grit if necessary. Use Guardian Wood Cleaner before oiling. Apply oil with a soft, lint-free cloth or sponge in a thin, even layer along the wood grain. After approx. 4 minutes, wipe off excess oil with a dry cloth. Repeat if necessary. Recommended oils: Guardian Wood Oil (600 ml) for natural oiled oak, Guardian White Pigmented Wood Oil (400 ml) for white oiled oak, Guardian Mocha Pigmented Wood Oil (400 ml) for smoked oiled oak.

The brand
Aakjaer Furniture
The story begins in 1948, when the cabinetmaker Jørgen Aakjær Jørgensen and his wife Lis settled in Bramming and began production in a cellar on Hellesvej. Jørgen was a trained cabinetmaker and had specialised in the traditional intarsia technique in Sweden — an art form that would later become his signature. The workshop grew into the furniture factory Møbelintarsia, employing over 15 skilled craftspeople, until he closed its doors in 1982. On New Year’s Eve 2017, the legacy was revived. His granddaughter, Nanna Aakjær Svendsen, founded ‘ Aakjaer Furniture ’ to carry on her grandfather’s designs — with humility and deep respect for the original designs. Today, the collection includes coffee tables, bookcases, mirrors, display cabinets and small accessories, mainly in solid oak. The design language is simple and functional, and it is the details that make it stand out: the precise joinery, the soft edges, the consummate craftsmanship. Furniture designed to last for generations — just as it did the first time round.
